Fandemonium Announces 10th Annual Convention
Entertainment Expo Returns to Nampa, Idaho for Three-Day Event.
Nampa, Idaho, July 16, 2013 – Fandemonium announces its 10th annual entertainment expo, a three day event celebrating all things media culture: focusing on science fiction, Japanese Animation, and Gaming, with events, panels, workshops, contests, tabletop gaming, video gaming, demonstrations and more.
“Fandemonium is about education through entertainment,” says Jamie Parker, Fandemonium’s chairperson. “We want to give fans an opportunity express their love of any type of media culture in a place where they can learn new skills and techniques, or share what they already know through community involvement.”
Guests at Fandemonium 2013 include: Jacob Bear (Comic Artist - DC Comics; “Hawk & Dove,” Bluewater Comics; “Logan's Run”), the Brothers Thir13en (Horror aficionados and horror house actors), Tonya “Tangl” Adolfson (Fantasy Author – “The Souls of the Saintland Series”), Michaelbrent Collings (Horror Author – “Billy: Messenger of Powers”, “RUN”, “The Loon” and “Rising Fears”), Carter Reid (Webcomic Artist – “The Zombie Nation”), Dalek Klaus (Fan Guest – First Dalek built in Idaho), and Steve Wilhite (Comic Artist – “The Scary Book”, “FUBAR”).
Video game and tabletop gaming tournaments will run throughout the expo. Exhibitors and artists will be in attendance to share their wares or handmade crafts; an art show room will be available to showcase 2D and 3D pieces created by fans, and by the Treasure Valley artistic community at large. “This event is ‘for the fans, by the fans’,” says Parker. “Anything you see, hear, or participate in at this convention exists because someone in the community was willing to come in and make it happen. We expect to see over 1000 attendees this year, and we are incredibly grateful to our staff and event-runners for their efforts.”
The Entertainment Expo takes place in Nampa, ID at the Nampa Civic Center, 311 Third Street South, Nampa, Idaho 83651. It is scheduled for Aug. 2-4, 2013, from 10 a.m. to midnight each day.
